Recording

Recording is a tough job. Requires full concentration and great sacrifice. The band is currently recording their songs and hope that our friends and family will support us.

Our objective:
1) To set the standard to what Malaysian music should sound like.
2) But most importantly, to play songs that Malaysian youths can relate and be touched by.

A Tribute to Xiu Han, Richard, and Max

This is a tribute to our beloved members Xiu Han, Richard, and Max. You guys will always be a part of our band's no matter if we fail or succeed.

Thank you for taking us this far and we will always remember you guys when we perform.

Xiu Han-
Performing for unplugged winners Ex-boyfriends with his brand of emo-singing. His parents came during that night and are extremely proud of him.

Richard-
Rocking the crowd during a performance in Holiday Villa, Subang with his super punk rock style!

Max-
On the drums during our jamming session. Always hardworking and never gives up :)

Band Genesis Chapter: 8

Wee Han was waiting in his car waiting for his friend in college. He noticed a voice. A voice so subtle yet so strong.

Like a mouse tracking the scent of cheese, his ears led him towards the song-bird. And there he was singing under the tree. And I mean literally under a tree! Wee Han was hooked. He parked his nearby and observed.

The singer under the tree was Ash. And it turned out that he was practicing for a singing competition in TARC. Ash had one of the best voices that an 18 year old could have. His voice was sweet yet strong. Not to mention that he can sing damn high.

After watching him perform on the night of the competition, Wee Han introduced Ash to the band and he became the band's vocalist.

And so, Sixth Day Philosophy was born. Note: Please refer to Sixth Day Philosophiy's friendster profile to learn how the band got their name.

Band Genesis Chapter: 7

Ezra the band's composer had always been writing songs and the band brought the songs to play during their jamming sessions. So the band planned to record the songs.

Recording would mean that members had jam constantly and also fork out quite a large amount of cash.

The hectic schedule and financial burden forced Xiu Han-vocals to leave as the subject he was enrolled in required strict discipline and tough concentration. Being restricted to a tight budget did not help much either.

Another empty space to fill... Untill...

Band Genesis Chapter: 6

The band was not stable after the competition. It was as if the fire had died down.

Max the drummer left due to work. Richard a hard rock drummer in the unplugged competition joined us. He left soon as he wanted to concentrate on his studies.

Being drummer-less, a search for a new drummer began. Knowing what a good drummer Brian (drummer for the second unplugged's champions "The Randoms") is, the band decided to recruit him. But it wasn't easy persuading Brian to commit. He was good and knew many styles and techniques so other bands wanted him.

Later on, the drummerless band was involved in the same gig as Brian and a few jamming sessions later, Brian joined.

Band Genesis Chapter: 5

Members of the Ex-boyfriends were:
Xiu Han (Vocals)
Ben (Bass)
Max (Drums)
Wee Han (Guitar and Vocals)
Ezra (Guitar)

The Ex-Boyfriends passed the audition and went on to compete in the finals. They played 4 songs. 3 of them, titled: Innocent Romance, Would it Satisfy, and Second Dance were songs written by Ezra. And also a song by the local band Spider- Relaku Pujuk.

With hard practice and support from friends and family members, the Ex-boyfriends won the band competition in TARC KL.

After the competition, there was a change in the members and band name.

Band Genesis Chapter: 4

Having dinner at Danao Kota. A Band name was needed. The five members were laughing their asses off thinking of a Band name.

3)Khoong (Combination of surnames)
4)Ex-Boyfriends

On the day of registering, they chose to go with Ex-Boyfriends.

Band Genesis Chapter: 3

With time running out before auditions for unplugged began, the band, still incomplete, needed a vocalist.

It was hard to find a vocalist in TARC cuz the band had little contacts. With the weeks going by and assignments and mid term tests kicking in, the incomplete band was in for a little bumps ahead.

It was when Xiu Han (Hostel mates with Jia Rong, Ezra, and Wee Han), wrapped in towel from the waist, soaking wet from as he walked out the bath gave us a peek into his emo-ful voice. "Have I told you lately, that I love you" His Rod Sewerdy mimic had caught Ezra's attention instantly!

With recruiting his brand of emo singing, the band was complete.

Soon after, Jia Rong decided to leave the band to train for an upcoming intercampus swimming competition.

Band Genesis Chapter: 2

Realizing that they could not win, they persuaded one of their hostel mates Wee Han to join the band.

At that time, Wee Han was playing in another band and had plans to join the unplugged competition. After little persuasion, he decided to leave his band and joined the duo (Jia Rong and Ezra) instead.

Wee Han then brought two new members to the group. Ben-bassist and Max-drummer. All that was missing was a vocalist...
